But Baby, I Love Me.

We were all at dinner, and in between bites of pad thai Sjana asked in her bubbly Australian accent, "So, do you girls have any plans for Valentine's day?" I parted my lips to say something along the lines of not really, I forgot, or maybe brunch? But Isabella pounded her fist on the wonky wooden table, grains of rice jumped on my plate. "YES." She said. All eyes went to her. She excitedly explained with a huge grin on her face that this was the first Valentines day since seventh grade she is going to be single, and she was so, so stoked. She laid out a plan of buying herself lingerie, and sitting and eating a box of vegan chocolates and drinking champagne. Sounds better than any Valentines day that I have ever had. You know yourself best, so why not give yourself what you really want? It's a day all about love, and I love Isabella's Valentine's day plan.

Enjoy this Isabella-inspired guide to dedicating a day to loving yourself.

Your Day Plan

Put on a cute outfit that makes you feel confident. It could be your favorite dress, some levi's and a cute lace bralette, or a silk robe. Whatever outfit you choose, add some lipgloss and shimmer on your eyeshadow.

Make breakfast with somebody you love. Could be your mom, your best friend, your dog, or your succulent. Mix together a simple pancake recipe (one mashed banana, a cup of flour, and enough almond milk to get it to pouring consistency) and flip them around on the griddle, topped with juicy red strawberries and a drizzle of syrup.

Dance around in your kitchen to the above playlist while you cook

Take yourself shopping. Get those shoes online you have wanted, head down to the vintage store with no expectations, or buy yourself a coffee with that house made milk that you normally wouldn't splurge on.

Head back home or find a cute cafe to stop at. Take out your journal and write. What are 10 things you love that you cannot buy? Who are 5 people in your life you love and why? And lastly, what is one quality about yourself that you may have disliked but are slowly learning to love?

Spend the rest of the day as you wish, refreshed, filled with love and vibrant energy, and ready to give love and receive it.

Paul: Holly, I’m in love with you.

Holly: So what?

Paul: So what? So plenty! I love you. You belong to me.

Holly: No. People don’t belong to people.

Paul: Of course they do.

Holly: I’m not going to let anyone put me in a cage.
