On August 31st Messy + Mall Fight threw a benefit show / end of summer bash called “Melty”. All proceeds from the event went to CHIRLA.
CHIRLA is an immigrant-focused and immigrant-powered organization working to achieve full inclusivity of immigrants. They have been around for 30+ years and execute their work through:
Providing direct immigration legal services at low cost to the most vulnerable among us
Organizing immigrants to take active part in the social change we all want to see
Advocating in the halls of power for laws and government policies that benefit and include immigrants in the national conversation about the kind of nation we want to be.

Melty was a music-focused event, centered around a butterfly stage with 6 hours of live performances. Videos danced on a wall close by. Interesting characters hung around in the crowd, in full outfit, makeup, and personality. Some guests sat down with makeup artists in a make-shift salon and became characters of their own. Take a break from the dancing, hanging out on the patio, or sitting in the living room, and wander over to the gallery with resin jello sculptures sitting on a long table surrounded by large photos telling stories of a summer waning away.
Thank you to the whole team! To Jester, Paige & Hank for making the photo gallery happen. To Fii & Mia for running the door and casting & styling all the characters. To Chris for managing the music side of the event. To Moose & Meli for making the stage. To Maytal for keeping everyone organized. Erica from Mall Fight for throwing this event with us. And Kat & the team at Chewing Foil for making this event possible.
Thank you to all of the musicians who performed: Siistwa, Samuel de Saboia, Emily & Friend, Colorquest, Miles Knight, Donnie Heeler, Britney, Sam Casper & Miles Singleton, Stuttering Guest, & Raegan Gonzalez.
